AI/ML Solutions Engineer

Eduworks is seeking a highly-qualified Machine Learning Engineer - AI/ML Solutions to join our machine learning research and development team. This multifaceted role will focus on designing and building AI systems for clients in the Education and Training Sector. Main responsibilities include: working with clients and business analysts to identify technical requirements for AI systems, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design and architect cutting edge AI solutions that meet clients needs, ensuring scalability and production-quality performance, and working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AI/ML solutions in to existing systems and workflows. This is a technical role that includes design and engineering of AI services and data repositories in an interconnected environment. This is an excellent growth opportunity with an established company with a start-up feel in a high-tech industry, working with leading innovators in the education and training software field.

Basic qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or Computational Linguistics, or equivalent work experience
  • US Citizen and eligibility for a security clearance
  • 3+ years of work experience in AI services development
  • Compliance with regulations concerning COVID applicable to federal contractors
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Required skills include:

  • Background in designing and implementing AI systems, equivalent to graduate-level courses in ML, AI, SE and HCI
  • Proven experience in AI/ML solution engineering, preferably in the Education and Training sector
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and one or more of: C, C++, Java, or Scala
  • Combination of courses and work experience equivalent to 3 years of applied AI services design and development
  • Database/query skills, including both SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience with Numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn, and either Tensorflow or PyTorch
  • Experience with SpaCy, NLTK, OpenCV or equivalent/similar toolkits
  • Working knowledge of Git and Docker
  • Experience working and deploying both ML API-based services in the cloud
  • Strong analytical skills and a flexible, collaborative approach to systems engineering and design
  • Ability to work as part of a team, using shared planning tools and working collaboratively with teammates

Desired skills include prior experience with:

  • Experience working with and utilizing foundation models in a range of modalities, including finetuning, development of wrappers, and prompt engineering as part of production-quality API development.
  • Experience with Transformer architectures and especially encoder-decoder models would be useful
  • Flask, FastAPI, Django (or other Python framework)
  • Kubernetes, DVC, Argo Workflow, MLFlow
  • Experience with deploying AI services applications to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
